4321 Up Up and Away, Part 2 (August 5 - 14, 2022) : Day 7 - Koh Samui Round Island

250 baht per motorcycle, per day, driving license NOT required ! Why would anyone wants to cycle round island when they can motor-CYCLE ?

Directly opposite the entrance to Am Samui Resort is this small construction yard.

A few hundred meters away from the yard is this open laundromat cum petrol station. This was Claudine and VT's first stop in the morning!!!

At the corner is Pada Restaurant but it was not opened when we were there

Further down from Pada is a convenience store located at the edge of the river banks.

Ducks by the little bridge.

Checking out the Happy drinks for the team

The price are pretty competitive

Delicious Poultry!!!

8 am

Breakfast at the resort

We are finally ready to roll @ 9.30 am! We would have preferred a motorcycle each but our resort did their very best and only managed to rent 4 from a nearby rental. The other 2 belongs to the staff.

On Route 4170

View from The New French Kiss, a restaurant cum dive center. We were actually looking for the Coral Harbour Pier but took the wrong turn. The New French Kiss' Belgian owner wasn't too happy with our visit. They even disallow us to use their toilets!!!

Na Muang Waterfall. You pass by a small local village and walk through a narrow lane decked by gift shops before coming to this wooden bridge. A dog will be assigned to lead you to the waterfalls whether requested or not. In the end, we fell in love with the dog

Na Muang Waterfalls has many tiers. Note the first waterfall on the left

There are many such bridges

Second and Third tier with 2 pools

We decided to trek further

Cheers

Some gave up trekking at the sight of Fourth Tier

The rest pursued

Things get a bit tougher

Doggo did not encourage us to come here and stopped following us somewhere before this point!!! This is Fifth tier with another smaller body of water on the right but unfortunately we did not bring our camera over to the right as the level of difficulty becomes more intense. Perhaps it is a full wall of water during the rainy season?

On our descent to join the others at Fourth Tier

Reunited with Doggo during our descent from Fifth Tier, he followed us to Fourth Tier where everyone is waiting! Doggo deserved the grilled chicken which was shared with him

On the way to Chaweng Beach. This is also the point where we lost Kelvin and Jasmine. They decided to turn back after this to attend a conference call.

Riding a motorcycle is more tiring than cycling. It's time for tea break

On Our way to Tan Rua Waterfall

It was a very steep climb and a 70 cc bike could not make it. Mindy had to step down to walk up the slope. However, without Mindy on the bike, it was still unable to climb the steep slope so Joyce had to push!

Meanwhile, Mr Lim followed closely...

Once the bike gained momentum and reached the top of the slope, Joyce jumped back onto the bike as pillion with Mr Lim

We were advised by the locals to park our bikes at a clearing right opposite Secret Falls Coffee and walk the rest of the short distance

Canopy walk to Tan Rua Waterfalls

The walk is well maintained and free

Midway is a cafe cum zip line

Near the Tree Bridge Cafe

Mr Lim decides to take the plunge. He was their last customer

After suit up, he had to climb up the stairs. Here he is suspended and all ready to fly

While he is zip lining, we continued the hike to Tan Rua Waterfalls

Tan Rua Waterfalls with not much water

Look at Mr Lim's return!

His instructor caught up with him really fast

Back on land, the end!

Mr Lim gave all of us mango treats at Secret Falls Coffee

Camping area below Secret Falls Coffee...
