Since yesterday, Claudine had been making frequent trips to the lobby asking to speak to the Reservation Manager. It was important for them to strike a good rate for their extended stay at Larmont's but things were not looking good. Most hotels in Sydney were fully booked and whatever that is available, has gone sky rocket in terms of rates.

While Claudine never saw the Reservation Manager and the hotel continued to stick to their exorbitant rate, the published rate on Agoda finally went down by 10% in the morning. Reluctant to move to other places which includes an expense on transport, they decided to stay put and grab the discount available.

Kings Cross is a colourful place to be. Sitting down for breakfast at Pie Face, Claudine and VT enjoyed gawking at the denizens that spilled over from the red light area. This morning, their source of entertainment was a lady with plumped lips!

Soon it was time for VT to get to work and for Claudine to start her day. Today is going to be exciting as she was meeting up with her childhood friend at Milsons Point. Karen and her had practically grew up together, living in the same neighborhood and going to the same school since they were 6!

Anglers
Milsons Point jetty

Having been to Sydney Harbour Bridge previously, she found her way to Ripples at Milsons Point with little effort. As she was way too early for her lunch appointment, she went under the bridge to marvel at its structure, caught a few men fishing by Milsons Point park before bumping into a local tour guide and his group at Luna Park. They were just coming off the ferry at Milsons Point jetty.

It was beginning to blow after her meeting with Karen. Under grey skies, she followed the river promenande to Wendy's Secret Garden, again passing The Face; the iconic 9 meter wide smiling face with its two flanking towers that had presided almost throughout The Park's existence. However, do not be fooled by its happy appearance as Luna Park has seen it's fair share of fatal accidents, legal suits, foreclosures and takeovers since its inception in 1935.

Lavender jetty at the end of Peter Kingsley walkway

At the end of Peter Kingsley walkway, she exited via Lavender St, turned onto Alfred St before coming back to Sydney Harbour Bridge. Following Lower Fort St, she went on to circle Sydney Observatory. Disappointingly, it was closed for renovation and all that was accessible was its surrounding gardens.

Familiarized with the area since Day 2, she accessed Cumberland St via the Bridge Stairs this time coming close up to Bridge Climb Center. Then taking Argyle Stairs, she got onto Argyle St before coming straight up to Circular Quay and the Waterfront.

Omafiets' narrow passageway makes it hard to spot

After awhile, she decided to go bike shopping, seeking out Omafiets Bike Shop. Mainly taking George St, the journey took her past Queen Victoria Building, Hay Street and Belmore Park. After a few off tracks, she found her way to Omafiets via Elizabeth St and Chalmers St; along the way passing by the Central Train Station. Returning though, is so much easier back tracking the way she had come from but with a walk in the park at Prince Albert's park!
