Bumped into my friend again!

This morning, Claudine had an early breakfast with VT at Larmont before sending him off to work. They were moving hotels today and it was arranged for him to drop his Brompton, packed in a suitcase for Intercontinental Hotel before reporting for work. She returned to bed after he left as it was still too early for check ins.

Chatting with the taxi driver as they were heading for Inter-Continental Hotel later, Claudine found out he had emigrated from Korea some 25 years ago. Strangely, he still speaks with a Korean accent. Asians or no Asians, the fare remain as per meter reading at AUD 25, no discounts offered!

Being a premium member does have its perks as the check in was smooth and the pre-sent luggages were already in the rooms even before she stepped in. As for her own, they arrived within minutes!

Having wasted the whole morning, she was eager to explore more of Sydney! Setting up her bike quickly, she rode out on Macquarie St and found lunch at Jardin, a street cafe operating from the back yards of St James Church. Lunch hour in Sydney saw many people hitting the streets for a run instead of lunch!

Taking the footpath in Hyde Park, she could not resist Archibald fountain, which makes the center piece in the gardens. When she hit Market St, she rode straight on to Darling Harbour before crossing Pyrmont Bridge again. This time though, she ventured beyond in a quest for Sydney Fish Market.

Disappointingly, Sydney Fish Market is mainly a large warehouse filled with food stalls run by Asians. You choose your fresh seafood and hand it over to be cooked. A large grocer and several seafood shops cater to the home bound while the bigger warehouses comes with packing facilities and cold rooms for export.

Not keen, she then proceeded to Anzac Bridge, one of the longest concrete cable stayed span bridges in the world. Built to replace the four lane swing span Glebe Island bridge from 1903, the Anzac Bridge was rechristened to its present name in honour of the servicemen who fell during the war.

Crossing over to Rozelle, the business district on Victoria Street appeared slightly run down. Pushing on to Parramatta River, the Iron Cove Bridge was an interesting contrast to Anzac Bridge's gracefulness.

Drummoyne Swimming Center was the first landmark she hit on the other side. Deciding to follow the river banks, she rode along Henley Marine Dr, rolling along a beautiful bike path that ran parallel to the mainroad that connects to the houses at Drummoyne; all big and modern in architecture.

A little confused coming close to City West Link Road

After the City West Link Rd, the bike path began to steer away from local housing. At Lilyfield, she often found herself riding to a dead end before joining footpaths that ran across parks. This called for several consultations with Google maps just to ensure she remain on the right track.

Brewery

A missed turn led to Sydney College of the Arts before a final run back; for she had a dinner appointment with VT and Fred. Who would have thought, they will keep returning to The Rocks, this time for steak at The Cut Bar &, Grill and beer at a local brewery.
